There is no hiding the fact that the Global Radio re-branding of heritage stations to Heart is some massive step, but we believe that this is good for local radio.
Global Radio are creating a multi-platform locally delivered, national brand.
All the Global stations have smaller competitors, to whom the opportunity to thrive as 'genuine local radio' is truly open. Smaller local stations should be servicing the tastes and requirements of local listeners and businesses through content and advertising opportunities.
We believe that radio should be creative. GWR's lack of creativity over the past few years has left the listening audience indifferent to radio.
Now is the time for change.
The new national "Heart" brand, smaller ILR's and community radio stations are the future of radio in the UK. It's a long-term game plan, but the opportunities in the sector are huge.
